James Gribble, vice president of International Programs at the Population Reference Bureau, led a workshop on Communicating Research Findings to the Media in Oslo, Norway on January 23, 2013 from 9-11:30am. The workshop covered ‘The Art of the Interview,’ and helped prepare 11 current Hewlett/IIE Dissertation Fellows to communicate their research findings in radio and TV interviews.
This interactive workshop provided participants with the opportunity to:
- Understand the steps necessary to prepare for a media interview
- Craft a message appropriate for the context and the audience
- Learn strategies for presenting in both radio and TV interview settings
- Practice and record a mock interview
